NJPTAid Listserve Post: Speech Reimbursment for Rehab Agencies
Posted on Thursday, December 22 @ 04:01:49 EST by Ken Mailly

Regulations Anonymous writes "Question:

I am unfamiliar with "speech codes". Here are my questions:

Does Medicare reimburse a Rehab Agency for barium swallow testing type codes? Will Medicare reimburse a Rehab Agency for any or all of the standard speech codes? I am assuming they are properly performed by a qualified SLP with proper referral by MD, etc etc, etc---but no MD is on site. Yes----I am assuming it is allowed by state statute, etc---I can hear you already :)
